First 10 minutesWhen you sip beer, it travels to your stomach where it is absorbed into the bloodstream. Besides the bloodstream, alcohol also gets to your brain and around your muscles within 5 minutes. After 10 minutes, your body sees it as poison and tries to break it down to get rid of it.
15-30 minutesIn about 15 minutes of drinking beer, the stomach starts to produce an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase, which converts alcohol into toxic chemicals. It is after 15-30 minutes that you start to feel the intoxicating effects of the beer, which include light headedness, happiness or other emotions.
